Sorare is a bit complex, especially at the beginning. There were a lot of questions and sometimes I had trouble finding the right answer. So I gathered some helpful basics for Sorare.

1. Card bonus
There are 3 card bonuses
- Captain bonus 20%
- Season bonus 5%
- Card level
Captain and Season bonus
The captain bonus brings you extra points (20% more) for 1 player
The season bonus brings you 5% extra to a card if it’s from the current season
2. Card lvl and XP
The card level bonus depends on the rarity and level of the player (XP).
- Limited: level 0–20 (bonus from 0–10%)
- Rare: level 0–20 (bonus from 0–10%)
- Super Rare: level 40–60 (bonus from 20–30%)
- Unique: level 80–100 (bonus from 40–50%)
Gaining XP
The formula for XP is calculated:
Formula = base XP + team minutes played XP + player score XP
→ every level up brings +0.5% to the bonus
- Trading a player has an impact on XP. It halves by 50%.
How long does it take to the maximum level?
When you use a player regularly, it needs about 3 years. First 10 levels in one season and the next 2 seasons for the other 10.
3. Player Score
The Players Score is between 0 and 100 points. It is calculated: Decisive score + All-round score.
Decisive score = obvious statistics in a game
- Positives: Goal, Assist, Penalty Won, Penalty Save, Last Man Tackle, Clearance off the line, clean sheet (GK only)
- Negatives: Red card, Own goal, Penalty Conceded, Error leading to a goal, 3 or more goals conceded
The player starts at level 1. Each action brings them up or down
All-round Score = NOT obvious statistics (the overall impact in the game)
These are more complex and divided into two groups:
- Goalkeeper score
- Outfield players

This measures nearly every action of a player on the pitch.

4. Other questions
What if a player retires?
These players can be traded. But they are no longer able to get points for your teams.
If a player transfers to another league (not on Sorare)?
They are still able to bring you the points
Why are there different scores for the same player?
In a career of a footballer, the position can be changed. So it will be considered on Sorare.
For example, a player is in the first season a forward and next season a midfield. As in real life, the player cards on Sorare have now different positions. Season 2020 forward and 2021 midfield. And each position gets different points for some actions on the field (Forward gets 50 pints and the Midfield gets 40)
